The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading the ME team on operational improvements including utilization of ERP system, production equipment, tooling/ fixturing, quality control, facility management, cost analysis and production processes of cargo handling equipment for military and commercial aircraft.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Manage and supervise ME team to ensure timeliness completion of tasks and feedback throughout the organization.
? Lead ME team on projects that support yearly productivity goal.
? Owns the safety program and associated reporting.
? Coordination of tasks and projects that support other departments within the organization.
? Usage of Lean Six Sigma tools to determine process standards and technology required to meet the quality and reliability objectives of finished product. ? Works with various products, equipment and disciplines to increase production, quality, efficiency, volume and/or environmental suitability.
? Gathers, coordinates and applies basic engineering data using appropriate and defined engineering principles and procedures.
? Develops manufacturing methods, by creating standard work, process routings, and cost analysis systems.
? Development and design of prototype tooling fixtures to ensure efficient production.
? Applies statistical methods and mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements and product standards.
? Confers with vendors, staff and management regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications manufacturing capabilities and project status.
? Drafts and designs equipment and tooling from concept to design package using drafting tools and computer aided design.
? Reviews production schedules, engineering specifications, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures and activities.
? Regularly monitors work areas, examining tools and equipment to detect unsafe conditions or violations of safety rules.
? Establishes and maintains effective work relationships with all departments.
? Ensures adequate and continuous controls are exercised over all assigned activities affecting quality.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from four?year college or university in Engineering Sciences of manufacturing or industrial engineering; plus 8 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. ? Experience in Lean Six Sigma manufacturing, Green Belt preferred. ? Computer Skills; AUTOCAD, Solid Works and/or Pro?E, Microsoft Office and Outlook.
