JOB DESCRIPTION

 

  • The Manufacturing Engineer I is the manufacturing engineering resource to a plant with three main areas of focus:  Process, Continuous Improvement/Cost Reduction, and New Product Development support.  
  • The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible to ensure long term reliability of the plant processes through technical support, and engineering activities designed to ensure that equipment and processes are operated properly, that proper care is administered, and conditions are monitored to preclude failures, and are optimized.  
  • Where failures occur in the process, to analyze the cause and develop the actions, procedures, etc., to preclude recurrence. Will lead or be the primary engineer in the development and implementation of manufacturing projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
2+ years experience as manufacturing engineer
2+ years experience with process, continuous improvement, cost reduction
2+ years experience with new product development support
Knowledge of basic lean principles (5S, 9 Wastes, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, or Process Mapping)
Experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) and routings for accurate costing and scheduling
Experience with any AutoCAD
BS in Engineering

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Experience with gypsum manufacturing
Experience with commercial ceilings manufacturing
Six Sigma certification

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
