Opportunity to join an expanding manufacturing leader as the Manufacturing Engineer supporting the automated and manual assembly equipment in the production of high quality automotive components. Provide technical details, documentation, support, and guidance, by participating as a cross-functional team member to help resolve welding issues.

JOB DESCRIPTION

--- Support robotic assembly welders
--- Work with product engineering, customers, and suppliers to develop prototype and production parts.
--- Develop layout and material flow plans.
--- Create specifications, recommendations and designs for tools, fixtures, gages, equipment, and processes.
--- Help troubleshoot and improve equipment issues.
--- Test tools, fixtures, gages, equipment, and processes.
--- Specify gaging techniques.
--- Coordinate quality improvements within assembly.
--- Provide technical guidance and training to the assembly team.
--- Budget and control costs of assembly methods.
--- Evaluate and update documents according to Process Change Requests.
--- Analyze Not Right First Time (NRFT) issues in the assembly process and develop countermeasures to correct discrepant levels.
--- Assist with APQP documentation (PFMEA, Control Plans)
 

QUALIFICATIONS

--- BS Manufacturing Engineering Degree or equivalent degree with 3+ years experience in assembly environment - metalworking industry preferred.  Tier 1 Automotive supplier.
--- Experience with robotic welding required
--- Experience with Torque, Press and Gaging equipment in daily production.
--- Experience with Error Proofing / Poka Yoke methods.
--- Demonstrate technical understanding of programming automated systems.
--- Skilled in CAD with the ability to learn and use new CAD programs.  AutoCad and Pro-Engineer experience
--- Able to work in the USA without sponsorship, now or in the future. 
 

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
