Our client is a construction product manufacturing company holding a patent of a state-of-the-art product that has been successfully developed over the last few years by a group of experts in the field. They are currently starting up a manufacturing facility in Moose Jaw, SK and will be building a new plant in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia this year. Their corporate office is located in Vancouver.
They are in need of a Manufacturing Engineer to assist with the manufacturing activities in the Lower Mainland, BC plant. This individual will also support the Moose Jaw (SK) facility by occasionally visiting the SK plant, but will mostly work with the VP of Operations and Plant Manager of the BC plant to help design and set-up of the BC plant.

Create and implement new production processes/procedures to ensure best practices are followed
Increase efficiency, improve quality and reduce costs by implementing Lean Manufacturing techniques
Ensure plant is running at optimal efficiency by identifying and recommending production equipment requirements
Work with the Engineering team to ensure that new product instructions incorporate “design for manufacturability”
Design, test and upgrade systems and processes by using a continuous improvement mindset
Make sure that production functions are completed in accordance with established production, safety and quality standards
Schedule equipment maintenance for optimum reliability and least impact to production schedules
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technologist Certification or Certified Manufacturing Engineering designation
5+ years of experience in manufacturing/production.
Knowledge of process related standards, ISO systems, and production quality control
Strong computer skills including MS Office and understanding of CAD/AutoCad
Previous experience in leading Lean Manufacturing initiatives
Ability to solve problems effectively and by identifying alternative solutions
Experience with concrete or cement processing will be considered an asset
Strong multi-tasking, communications, customer service and organizational skills
