JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Working within this global mining technology leader you will assist the team with the next phase of their Hard Rock Continuous Miner product introduction. Contribute to the development and design of the hard rock cutting system as well as their product ideas and be part of the team in bringing successful deliverables for the worldwide mining industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of hard rock cutting systems and product ideas.
  • Test and measurement initiatives in support the of the research development projects.
  • Generate and maintain all engineering information.
  • Generate engineering information as required allowing preparation of sales and marketing aids, also operation and maintenance manuals.
  • New product and features performance analysis. Implement corrective action to align product with market values.
  • Assist in the developing the dust suppression management system for the hard rock continuous miner.
  • Responsibly apply engineering skills in the fields of hydraulics, design and simulation.
  • Drive engineering governance.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Your knowledge, skills and abilities will include:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant discipline.
  • 6 years’ experience in engineering design, Validation & Verification, machine application, for large scale equipment is highly desirable.
  • Experience in mining industry would be beneficial.
  • Proficient in the use of computer-aided design (CAD) tools is required.
  • Effective understanding & use of principles in specialty fields like structural analysis & structural integrity will be required.
  • Hydraulic systems design experience.
  • Implementing Lean Engineering principles.
  • Effecting Change Management implementation.
  • Experience in cross-functional team assignment
  • Certifications or demonstrated project management would be desired.
  • Professional registration and/or membership on committees and/or in technical societies would be beneficial

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
