We are recruiting a Social Worker BSW or MSW for an expanding integrated healthcare system in Ohio!!

$19.93 - $27.44/hour (BSW)

· $22.13 - $30.46/hour (MSW)

· Must be currently licensed in Ohio

Great healthcare system located about 1 hour east of Columbus, OH and 2 hours west of Pittsburgh! Rural city with rolling hills located in eastern central OH.

There are also 2 state parks in the area with hiking, boating, swimming opportunities, etc. Antiques and pottery are big business in this area as are Longaberger baskets. Sports leagues include: sand volleyball, softball, etc. There are several choices of fitness centers (average cost to join for one person is $250/year). A choice 1 bedroom apartment will cost ~ $475 -750/ month.


· Must be currently licensed in Ohio

·Mon-Fri  8a – 4:40p with every 4th weekend worked

· On-call every 4th week for after hours

· When fully staffed, the Social Worker covers multiple units, but when short staffed works on specific units as a discharge planner.

  • Utilizes supportive counseling techniques, provides crisis interventions, and facilitates therapeutic, support, and education groups as needed to assist patients in developing coping strategies.
  • Completes psycho-social assessments utilizing a systems approach.
  • Demonstrates ability to practice independently as outlined by Ohio Counselor/Social Work Board and when delegated by manager, provides supervision to LSW, LPC, and students.
  • Provides appropriate interventions to patients and families during times of emotional, psychosocial or financial stress as related to their medical conditions.
  • Acts as patient advocate, mediator, facilitator, supports patient’s right to self-determination, and demonstrates compassion, warmth, and sensitivity to patients.
  • Involves patient/family/significant other in any decision making related to patient’s plan of care.
  • Intervenes effectively with the more involved, complex family and patient interventions.
  • Assists with orientation of new staff and/or students
  • Monitors length of stay (LOS) and identifies and participates in the development and implementation of strategies to reduce unnecessary resource consumption on assigned patient populations.
  • Collaborates with members of the medical staff and the interdisciplinary team to ensure efficient delivery of care.
  • Keeps abreast of current changes in law which affect social work practice.
  • Works closely with physicians, nursing staff, allied health professionals and RN Case Manager to promote positive patient outcomes.
  • Follows the ethical codes as established by the State of Ohio Counselor and Social Work Board.


  • Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelors or Master of Social Work with current license in the state of Ohio. Hospice/Home Care requires a Masters of Social Work.

  • Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in the State of Ohio.

    Highly developed verbal and written interpersonal skills required.

    Extensive knowledge in human behavior and personality development required.

    Ability to use a holistic approach to patient care.

    Valid driver’s license, and proof of auto liability insurance.

    Demonstrates knowledge and utilization of resource networks.

    Knowledge of all Medicaid waiver programs and makes referrals as appropriate

    Knowledge of physical and psychological indicators of abuse and neglect and follows protocols in accordance with state law and hospital policy.

University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
