JOB DESCRIPTION

* Responsible for maintenance, refurbishment and repair of all production equipment and facilities as per system procedures

* Responsible for assembly, debugging, installation, and start-up of new or modified production equipment - may involve mechanical assembly, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and controls installation

* Responsible for housekeeping and project organization, maintaining an organized and well equipped maintenance department

* Construct and install fixtures, repairs and adjust production equipment and assure optimum equipment operation

* Perform routine preventative maintenance and maintain equipment log book and spare parts inventory

* Maintain positive work relations with others and create and maintain a team environment

* Provide input into the development and upkeep of a plant preventative maintenance program

* Responsible for preventative maintenance, overhaul, and repair of production machinery and mechanical equipment

* Observe machinery or mechanical equipment in the plant and locate causes of trouble

* Dismantle equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts 

* Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments

* Repair or replace defective parts

* Source parts and labour to assist in maintenance as required

* Form and maintain a relationship with various equipment manufacturers for pricing, parts, service, etc.

* Install special functional and structural parts on machinery and mechanical equipment

* Operate equipment and machinery to test their performance

* Set-Up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts

* Submit purchase order (PO) requests for parts, materials and equipment

* Complete daily maintenance report and maintain accurate maintenance records

* Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment

* Complete all maintenance work in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety Act of Ontario and industrial regulations

* Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS

* Industrial Millwright (433A) certification - Inter Provincial / Red Seal OR Ontario

* 5 yrs+ in an automated industrial production environment performing mechanical maintenance of plant equipment

* Printing equipment experience an asset

* Good troubleshooting and problem solving skills including fixing UV lights, troubleshoot A/B PLCs

* Assist Operators with changeovers

* Good communication skills - verbal and written

* Ability to follow safe work practices

* Reliable

* Able to work independently

* Strong attention to detail

* Able to prioritize to meet deadlines and work with little or no supervision   

* Good attendance and safety records

* Be available to work day shift with some occasional need for extended hours into afternoon shift hours OR for emergency breakdown call-in

* Willing and able assigned shift
