JOB DESCRIPTION

* Days - 6:00am to 2:00pm

* Responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment within the plant

* Maintain, troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment and share knowledge of applicable mechanical concepts with other maintenance personnel

* Respond quickly to calls from production to keep equipment operational and ensure production runs smoothly

* Perform Mechanical PM activities as scheduled and report results

* Communicate effectively with outside vendors and equipment manufacturers

* Work in a safe and efficient manner

* Keep work area clean & orderly

* Periodic on-call support of nearby second plant (2 km)

* Perform any other reasonable duties as required or assigned by Management

QUALIFICATIONS

* Industrial Millwright license (433A) – Red Seal or Ontario

* Minimum Grade 12 education

* 5 yrs+ experience in a mechanical maintenance role in an industrial environment
* Must have experience performing preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipment
* Competency with pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, etc.
* Able to read and understand blueprints, specifications

* Strong analytical and problem solving skills required

* Good communication and interpersonal skills required

* Able to communicate effectively with peers and managers

* Able to work effectively independently or in a team

* Able to create material lists and provide input on most efficient install options for equipment and perform the installs

* Strong safety orientation and ability to follow proper safety procedures (i.e Lock-Out / Tag-Out, etc.) with a ‘do it right the first time’ mentality

* Self-sufficient and team oriented

* Computer literate - MS Office

* Driver’s license (G1) / willing to go between plants periodically if needed for support purposes (company /km reimbursement provided)

* Willing and able to work assigned shift

Education:
Vocational/Technical/Diploma
