Position Summary/Scope Of Position

CGSB Level 2 X-ray for an Automotive Tier 1 plant
Serve as the expert in Non-Destructive and Destructive testing techniques for x-ray

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for understanding, communicating, auditing and ensuring compliance with all site, corporate, regulatory and procedural environmental, safety, security, health, quality and human resources standards
  • Radiation safety officer for the plant
  • Develop destructive and non-destructive techniques for x-ray
  • Shoot and rate defects in aluminum castings
  • Working knowledge of digital and film x-ray equipment
  • Ability to develop x-ray techniques using digital and or film
  • Supervisor for destructive and non-destructive testing in the plant
  • Train area employees on testing techniques
  • Quality system responsibilities for X-Ray & NDT in the plant (ISO17025, 14001 and IATF)
  • Responsible for all area equipment calibration and maintenance
  • Electronic data management and communication of results to the customer and outside authorities

    Non-Destructive - Destructive Testing Supervisor

    Secondary Functions

  • Lead and participate in lean projects to reduce waste
  • Participate in internal audits and responsible for ensuring understanding and compliance with quality procedures
  • Other duties as assigned



Skills, Knowledge Or Certifications Required

  • Must possess current CGSB Level 2 X-ray and Radiation Safety Officer Certification
  • Preferred 5 to 7 years’ experience in a non-destructive and destructive x-ray testing role
