 Wonderful work environment with a thriving not-for-profit organization. You will spend 50% of your time working with the Payroll team processing a bi-weekly hourly and salary payroll the other 50% of your time will be focused in accounting handling the accounting related to payroll and supporting the accounting team.


  • Process the bi-weekly payroll for all hourly and salary employees
  • Process status changes and create and maintain the employee information and setup time management system including pay rate, positions and timecard reports
  • Work with HR and IT to maintain processes and data integrity between the HR system and time management system
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Reconcile payroll related ledger accounts on a monthly basis
  • Prepare quarterly, bi-annual and annual reporting for regulatory bodies such as Worksafe BC and others
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries
  • Back-up for employee benefit admin and other payroll related reporting
  • Support the CFO and Controller in performing other duties as assigned


  • Completion of Payroll compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Canadian Payroll Manager (CPM) designation, and or equivalent education and work experience are required
  • Some general accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred
  • Proficient with computer software required – ideal would be Adagio and Access
  • Able to work in high volume environment
  • Adaptable demeanor and the ability to work independently and on a team is required
  • High level of accuracy and the ability to handle detailed work is important
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills required
