JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Purpose:
Pediatric Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children.

 

Duties:


• Diagnosing, treating, and preventing speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
• Performing screenings to detect voice or speech disorders.
• Perform basic job duties listed per the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
• Adhere to all rules indicated with the American Speech Language-Hearing Association Code of Ethics.
• Follow all rules indicated with the State Board of Georgia Speech Language Pathology - Code of Conduct: Rules and Regulations.

• Keeping detailed records relating to patient conditions, care plans, therapies, and progress.
• Reporting progress and current status to appropriate parties, which may include family members, teachers, or medical professionals.
• Work in close relationship with the clinical team to provide high quality, multidisciplinary treatment and administrative customer service.
• Complete job duties and tasks under the clinical supervision of the Clinical Director of Allied Health Services.
• Know and become amenable with HIPAA and how it relates to the scope of the position.
• Abide by all confidentiality requirements.
• Act in a manner conducive to the role that is being conferred during this agreement in accordance with the values and mission of the company.
• Work efficiently and effectively: Collect information from people through observation, clinical interviews, or surveys, SOAP/Progress Notes, and/or Psychological Reports in a timely manner.
• Participate in marketing or community awareness programs, in-service training related to fulfilling the company’s goals associated to growth and awareness.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills/Qualifications:


• Currently hold valid GA SLP-CCC or Clinical Fellowship Licensure.
• Have at least 1 year of experience providing evaluations and therapy for pediatrics with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
• Ability to operate a personal computer using word processing, database and spreadsheet programs, web-based scheduling and EHR software, and basic typing skills sufficient to efficiently produce written speech evaluations, plan of cares, and SOAP notes.
• Ability to show competence in working in a team-based environment.

Education:
University - Associate's Degree/Graduate Diploma/2 Years
