JOB DESCRIPTION

The Plant Manager is responsible for managing all shop manufacturing personnel who are engaged in steel fabrication of equipment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build strong interpersonal relationships with all staff and other departments 
  • Drive operations to achieve established performance targets and goals using Lean Manufacturing and other processes such as 5 S techniques to streamline manufacturing and improve safety and quality
  • Lead Continuous Improvement of operational performance
  • Maintain a safe work environment and manage a comprehensive safety training and awareness program

QUALIFICATIONS

Key Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Results-oriented professional with 10+ years of experience in steel fabrication and manufacturing management.
    • The specific background should include operations with welding (carbon and stainless steel plate and structural work), and assembly.
  • Strong working knowledge of manufacturing processes and the ability to read and interpret structural and mechanical drawings
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to appropriately handle interactions with customers, other employees.
  • Full knowledge of equipment used in sheet and plate steel fabrication operations. IE: Plasma cutters, press brakes, plate rollers, metal cutting shear, CNC Laser cutters, Punching machines. Should also possess strong understanding of welding operations.
