JOB DESCRIPTION

We’re looking for someone with experience managing the P&L of an integrated vegetable processing site. The ideal candidate has a track record of implementing processes to increase efficiency and throughput without compromising food safety and quality.

The Plant Manager will report to the COO and will be responsible for the hands-on training and development of a team of 30 operators + field crew. They will also manage outside contractors on a significant expansion project in 2021.

As Plant Manager you will have primary responsibility for all aspects of a vegetable packing facility, including:

  • P&L and operating expense ownership to maximize efficiency and throughput of the facility
  • Partner with COO on operations optimization and workforce management, including the construction management for expansion project
  • Work with CFO on budget creation and reporting/tracking
  • Maintaining reliability of equipment and keeping the lines operational at all times
  • Oversee all shipping & receiving and trucking logistics, including relevant paperwork
  • Highly detailed inventory management, data collection and entry via supply chain software
  • Manage the QA and grading team to ensure all orders are packed to specification
  • Oversee Food Safety compliance

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team
    • Comfortable working with remote senior management team
    • Experience with crew management and leadership
    • Ability to hire and train new team members to support continued growth
  • Track record of cost management
  • Excellent mechanical skills and ability to maintain spare parts programs and inventory
  • Ability to maintain accurate paperwork and record-keeping
  • Previous agricultural experience and willingness to obsess over quality, throughput, and efficiency
  • Ability to learn and master new software applications

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
