Plant Manager – Petrochemicals (or Refinery)

The Plant Manager has responsibility for ensuring that the expected measurements of performance are met for various areas of plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality, safety, environmental, and variable cost budget.  He/she will be directly involved with all other aspects of the business including full budgetary oversite of the plant (P&L).  


  • Managing plant personnel and budgets
  • Direct and indirect reports include an Operations Manager, Process Engineer, Quality Control Manager, Shift Manager and Operations personnel (union)
  • Reducing operations costs while insuring quality standards are met
  • Lead and direct process optimization projects, continuous improvement and debottlenecking efforts   
  • Foster a high regard for Plant Safety and Environmental concerns: OSHA Regulations; EHS standards, Environmental permitting and Community Relations.
  • Interacts with the company Senior Management Team, Maintenance and Plant Operations


Desires applicant profile…

We are seeking a chemical engineer and Plant Manager who has managed operation at a continuous chemical manufacturing plant or refinery. This side of the operation is a relatively small plant such that we can consider promoting someone from Operations Manager.

  • BS Chemical Engineer or other technical degree 
  • 10 years minimum operations or production management experience
  • Time managing in petrochemical  plant or refinery (continuous operations)
  • P&L experience
  • Supervision of People, Safety, Quality, EHS standards
  • Union experience preferred
  • Authorized to work for any employer in teh USA without restrictions

University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
