Comp Time – Anytime our engineers work more than 45 hours in a week, they get credited for all hours over 40 deposited into their “COMP TIME” account. They can use these extra hours as vacation or they can cash them out at any time to give themselves a nice bonus. We have engineers on staff that bank hundreds of hours each year.
Principal Investigator Incentive – We incent our Principal Investigators to bring their programs in on time and on budget. If they bring them in on time and under budget, we allow them to share in the cost savings. Depending on how many programs they lead it can net them another 10% of salary on a good year.
Small family owned company, no red tape bureaucracy. Very flat structure – not layers of managers in the company. Owner is an Engineer. Work is mostly on SBIR program pursuits. The Power Electronics Engineer will be designing the layout of PCBs for thermal control, energy conversion, turbomachinery, chemical-based technologies, and materials science in military- and private-sector products. This position will perform a variety of roles (power electronics design, control algorithm development, embedded system design, and analog circuit design) and will be developing software architecture to support a wide range of power converters.
Experience with power electronics design
Experience programming various microcontrollers or DSPs
Experience with design and testing on PCB's and digital control systems including microcontrollers and FPGA's
Experience with design, implementation, and testing of advanced digital control algorithms, digital filters, and the general control of power electronics systems
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with a minimum 3.3 GPA
NICE TO HAVES:
Experience with electric converter design (AC-DC, DC-AC, DC-DC) from 1 kW to 150 kW
Experience with design and testing high power SiC and GaN semiconductor modules that incorporate advanced cooling schemes
