JOB DESCRIPTION

President – Armor Business Unit (full-time, regular)

Protective Equipment Company                                                                                  

Northeastern US (Northern Vermont and Southern New Hampshire)                   
Base salary $250K-$300K plus incentive compensation and benefits

Our client designs, develops, and manufactures protective armor and head systems for soldiers.

They have existing high-volume, long-term contracts.

They are seeking a seasoned operations expert to lead this business from end-to-end. This is a high-upside opportunity for a hands-on, results-driven, disciplined, and systematic problem solver to drive improvement across multiple facilities. Your effectiveness will be measure by cash flow and P&L for which you will have full responsibility.

The successful candidate will have deep knowledge of manufacturing and the proven operations experience to lead and grow this business unit.

As President of the Armor Business, you will:

  • Assess, develop, coach, and lead your team using a structured approach to problem solving
  • Use data-driven decision-making, metrics, and process improvement
  • Drive the product vision, product development, supply chain and inventory management, for both contracted business and commercial production

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant engineering or technical degree, MBA a plus
  • 15+ years’ experience in manufacturing operations
  • Full P&L responsibility for a business unit or business (250-500 employee-scale)
  • Experience starting a new business, facility, or product line
  • Turnaround experience
  • Deep knowledge of manufacturing
  • Proven operations experience
  • Strong global supply chain experience
  • Able to provide direction and guidance to plant support services
  • Able to ensure full use of ERP/MRP systems
  • Experience with product design and development
  • Customer-facing experience
  • Defense industry knowledge and military experience are desirable
  • Ability to travel between facilities and spend three days per week in Northern Vermont
  • Eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
