Principal Cloud Security Architect - Tempe, Az

This position reports to the Senior Manager of Cybersecurity and is responsible for analyzing cloud security architecture and integrating security controls into DevOps toolchains across various pipelines. Architect will support in automation, configuration, and administration of security solutions. Architect must be adept at troubleshooting, root cause analysis, best practice research, and identifying suspicious trends. Architect will provide advisory services to business units on IT initiatives and projects in regard to security industry best practice. The Architect will work across IT teams to develop new standards and lead projects in support of security strategy, architecture, and engineering. The Architect will also be responsible for developing metrics/KPIs for security tools.



Skills/Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in management Information Systems, Computer Science, and/or Business, or equivalent work experience. 8-10 years working in IT security domain. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong demonstrated knowledge of networking and TCP/IP protocol or networking certification (CCNA). Scripting skills (Shell, Python, Java, PHP, PowerShell, etc.).Preferred certifications include:  One or more of the following professional certifications: CISSP, CISM, SANS (GSEC, GCIA, GPEN, etc.), CISA, Security+ (or willingness to obtain within 6 months). AWS Security Specialty. AWS Solutions Architect: Associate or Professional.  Hashicorp Certified Terraform Associate

CISSP/CASP/OSCP. RedHat Certified System Administrator/Engineer/Architect (RHCSA, RHCE, RHCA)


(FW/IPS/AV/SIEM/etc.) 1 - 2 Years Terraform Experience (familiarity with some advanced topics like interpolation syntax, modules, sentinel) 1-2 Years generic automation experience (bash or python) 1-2 Years generic experience with linux, red hat specific experience RHEL7 or 8 Experience with SIEM technologies. Experience with AWS in a security environment preferred. Experience working with Windows and Linux operating systems. Experience working with firewalls and network IDS/IPS. Familiar with government security standards and regulations including GLBA, SOX, PCI, COBIT, ITIL. Experience doing vulnerability assessments, risk assessments and penetration testing. Familiar with various security architectures and methodologies (Defense in Depth, Kill-Chain, NIST, Critical Controls, OWASP, etc.)
