* Responsible to manage the production results for printing department, ensuring cost, quality, and customer service meets business expectations and continuously improves

* Contribute and ensure the working environment is one that is safe, fair, equitable and non-discriminatory

* Resolve personnel issues and lead Performance Improvement Process and ensure comformance to Standards of Conduct

* Maintain good employee relations on the shop floor through clear communication and feedback

* Manage Training Program and maintain Training Matrix

* Ensure quality and schedule attainment requirements are met, including writing storyboards and providing corrective actions as assigned

* Ensure productivity and labour budget targets for the shift are met or exceeded

* Manage vacation planning to satisfy production needs

* Improve uptime and metrics as well as manage utility scanning, inventory levels

* Support and drive Continuous Improvement – identify opportunities and driving CI projects, either leading or participating in projects, working with peers to implement process changes and physical upgrades

* Create and update SOPs and related documents

* Ensure full communication of all information to next shift to ensure smooth running of Print production by conducting daily audits, formal communication meetings and collecting data in order to submit daily production reports

* Always comply with plant safety and HACCP, using appropriate PPE while performing various duties

* Follow food safety and cGMP processes and procedures

* Other duties as assigned


* Post secondary education in manufacturing, business or related technical experience in packaging or converting business

* Experience in a midsize to large manufacturing environment with fast paced made-to-order processes

* Experience in a printing production facility or related experience is an asset

* Demonstrated strong supervisory skills

* Mechanical aptitude with technical print experience is an asset

* Strong interpersonal and people management skills

* Able to adapt to a variety of production situations / challenges

* Effective planning and organizational skills

* Project management skills

* Be flexible at times with work demands as a result of communication meetings, projects, launching new initiatives

* Be available to cover other shifts as the designated back-up on an as needed basis

* Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
