The PLC Programmer will manage the I & E department and work with engineering and operations to optimize the performance of the operation. JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities: Will be a leader in the optimization of the operation including programming/maintaining/troubleshooting PLC and DCS systems in a heavy industrial environment. Duties include:

  • Demonstrates, optimizes and instructs an expert knowledge of the control methods, analog and discrete and the critical components to developing sustainable control algorithms.
  • Provide loop checking, startup, troubleshooting and commissioning support in an industrial environment.
  • Understand control philosophy and write functional requirement specifications based on expected functionality including description of control loops, interlocks and alarms.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

  • Associates degree or Journeyman Electrician certification preferred
  • 7 plus years of experience in an Instrumentation/ Engineering manufacturing environment
  • Should be experienced in control methodology in PLC (programmable logic controller), DCS (Distributed control system) or HMI platforms.
  • Must have hands on field troubleshooting, repairing and programming experience and knowledge of instrumentation, sensors, flow transmitters etc.
  • Must have experience in programming PLC and DCS systems across various platforms.
  • Ability to optimize design and implement knowledge of control system architecture including hardware, software, instrumentation and networking equipment.
  • Proficient understanding of analog advanced control and batch control and ability to lead implementation

Vocational/Technical/Diploma
