Fortune Company and Industry leader is seeking a Sr Process Development Engineer to lead the development and commercialization of new products/processes for one of this company's newest and fastest growing business units. Will collaborate with a variety of groups including process technology, applications and manufacturing. Excellent benefits, competitive salary and bonus and comprehensive relocation. Commutable from most of Central and North Jersey and Eastern PA.
Will have responsibility for process development, scale-up, and efficiency improvement of new and existing products. Duties include:
Recommending & evaluating technologies to enable new product development and bringing new ingredient technologies to the market.
Developing process requirements to commercialize new ingredients and supporting optimization of commercialized products.
Managing projects within the Stage-Gate® process and execution of technology transfer projects. Designing and executing lab, pilot and commercial scale experiments.
Will supervise a small team dedicated to the current project.
Will occasionally travel to manufacturing and client sites to support technology transfer, up to 15%.
MS or PhD chemical engineering or food engineering.
Ideally 4+ years of industry experience and experience within lab and pilot plant environments.
Experience with extraction/separations methodology (chromatography, crystallization, filtration) required.
Knowledgeable with the physical chemistry of low molecular weight carbohydrates and sweeteners a plus.
Comfort with hydrogenation, hydrolysis, and the generation & application of phase diagrams.
Expertise in process development and ability to lead numerous projects utilizing stage gate methodology. Six Sigma methodologies also a plus.
Strong computer skills related to the design and analysis of experimental data and instrument interfaces
Open to occasional Domestic & international travel (10-15%)
