JOB DESCRIPTION

The Process Development Engineering Manager will be responsible for supporting new process/product development, evaluating new technology and provide commercialization and manufacturing support. This person will be responsible for managing a group of engineers.
 

Responsibilities: This person will lead and supervise a team of engineers as part of the Process Technology Group that supports and develops biochemical processes and products. Duties include but not limited to:

• Support the development of new ingredients for the food & beverage industry
• Lead all R&D projects and execute the company's strategic plan.
• Evaluate the financial costs vs value of new technologies to determine viability of those products.
• Lead the Process Technology team in the development and scale up of new processes.
• Provide financial evaluation and justification for new technology commercialization
• Work with lab scientists to identify new process technologies and develop long term strategic plan.
• Will occasionally travel to other manufacturing sites, both domestically and internationally to support technology transfer.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:

• BS/MS with 12+ years or PhD with 8+ years of relevant experience, in Biochemical, Chemical or Food Engineering.
• Should have extensive experience with bioreactor/fermenter design, downstream purification (chromatography, filtration etc) and scale-up and commercialization of new processes and products.
• Experience with Bioconversion processes a big plus.
• Should have previous supervisory experience of technical professionals (engineers, chemists, etc.)
• Related industries include pharmaceuticals, food processing or nutraceuticals
• Knowledge in continuous improvement methodologies including Lean Six-Sigma.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
