The scope of the role spans work in three countries, a variety of product structures and products in every stage of the lifecycle. In addition to supporting product optimizations in the core U.S. retail market at a state specific level, a key focus of the Product Manager role will be day to day project leadership, performance analysis and cross-functional team collaboration in support of our recently launched products in a new international market through a joint venture.
The Product Manager will investigate, create, drive and manage a portfolio of products and product functionality, providing a clear path for optimization and expansion of the products. The Product Manager will outline goals, develop growth strategies, identify potential risks and challenges, analyze past product performance in detail and then chart the path for future opportunities. They will represent the needs of end-users, evaluate market trends and competition and use this information to determine the various product strategies. This role is equal parts strategy/ideation, performance analysis and project management. The Product Manager will also ensure an atmosphere of cohesiveness, seamless communication and focused collaboration between all the members of the team, all in the interest of driving the product forward from strategy to tactical execution.
Work is performed under the general direction of the VP of Marketing & Strategy with latitude for the exercise of independent judgment in managing day-to-day priorities. There are no direct reports for this position, and as such the role is a multi-hat, multi-level position requiring both leadership and strategy skills as well as strong management and execution skills including; written and verbal communication skills, project management, detail-orientation and the ability to multi-task.
5-7 years of product design/management/analysis experience
Experience emanating from the financial services industry (i.e. banking, consumer finance, insurance, credit card, etc.) a strong plus, but not required
A background in product lifecycle management, including product design, analysis, and recommendations (e.g. pricing, loan range, term, fees, and value proposition.)
Product distribution experience including new and existing markets, online channels, new countries)
Strong background in conducting consumer research, product analytics and competitive analysis.
Must possess excellent project and time management skills along with excellent oral and written communication ability.
Ability to effectively synthesize key product metrics and results to highlight insights and trends, and then present strategies, results and optimization opportunities to executive level leadership in a compelling and clear manner.
Ability to work independently, in a self-directed way to drive initiatives and manage cross-functionally.
Knowledge of finance and/or marketing, data analytics, analysis and reporting of the product performance and ROI.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, marketing, or business management
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
