JOB DESCRIPTION


Responsibilities:

Provides overall direction for the Operations department to meet plant goals and objectives in regards to safety, environmental, quality, production performance, cost performance, and people development.

Develops, prioritizes, and directs the short and long term plans of the department to meet and improve performance goals in the areas of safety, environmental, quality, production, cost, and people development

Develops performance standards and performance plans for resources or staff in the department. Analyzes and evaluates performance; institutes development plans for employees as needed

Develops and oversees the implementation of the annual budget and monitor performance

Oversees the development of training programs to ensure that staff has sufficient system knowledge to perform their job satisfactorily and safely

Recommends or initiates personnel actions and administers company policies for the department

Identifies continuous improvement opportunities and help achieve world class manufacturing standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering (may consider M.E. or Chemist with very relevant experience)

Minimum 6 years, ideally 8+, with 2+ years of supervisory experience in the chemical or related manufacturing industry.

Should be knowledgeable in Continuous Improvement, PSM, ISO 9001, TQM principles, Root Cause Failure analysis and overall plant troubleshooting.

Proven leadership and people development ability. Union experience a plus.

Resource and project management abilities

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
