Their operations in Western Canada is needing to hire for their Production Manager who will be responsible for organizing and managing all aspects of production and who will be working closely with the sales and operations teams of the company.

The ideal candidate must be a hands-on manager with experience in a lean manufacturing environment, mentoring and developing a team. The Production Manager needs to be strong both strategically and operationally and must have an entrepreneurial desire to build a world-class manufacturing organization. Experience in supervising a union crew is an asset.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Ensure the day-to-day supervision of manufacturing activities by exerting a high level of leadership
  • Use the production schedule and work closely with the purchasing team to continuously improve the delivery of materials on a just-in-time basis
  • Responsible for production efficiency, quality of product, ensuring minimal damaged products and timely shipments of products
  • Play a key role in determining, monitoring and managing KPI’s to ensure safety, quality and on time delivery
  • Accountable for production materials, expedition of customer orders as per their specifications and requirements
  • Ability to prioritize work orders in a high dynamic environment and ensure efficiency of the production cell and employees
  • Ensure inventory movement is recorded on time in the company’s computer systems
  • Plan, organize and manage production activities in keeping with set objectives and deadlines
  • Participate in the optimization of operations and set high quality standards for Service Delivery
  • Assign workloads and goals to each employee, oversee the pace of production and drive continuous improvement actions
  • Monitors and maintains quality standards and productivity targets
  • Ability to recognize, analyze and resolve production or work problems

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years of managerial experience in production environment is required
  • Strong experience in industrial environment, servicing machinery/equipment/electro-mechanical devices and related
  • Diploma in Engineering is essential
  • Experienced MS Office user
  • Management experience in unionized environment is a big asset
  • Experience in production planning and in personnel and administrative management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills able to inspire, lead and motivate people
  • Ability to handle several issues simultaneously
