JOB DESCRIPTION

The Project Engineer / Process Design provides Project Engineering / Project Management for various assignments from beginning to end.  Provides Engineering support to Technology and Sales in reducing operation costs, reducing losses, eliminating labor intensive operations and improving technology.  Participates in coordinating captial investment projects and other assignments, including budgets, ROI, and scheduling.  Provides progress reports on current assignments.  Certain periods of work will be off-site, so some domestic travel will be necessary, (also a chance of international travel).  Manage design, construction and commissioning of pilots and in their treatment, cleaning, purification and remediation areas in the environmental industry. 

Recomnends, specifies and purchases equipment, parts, components and services for projects and plant-wide assignments.  Evaluates and provides justification, specifications, scopes of work, design drawings, P & I drawings, bidding, scheduling, supervision, startup and commissioning of assigned projects.  Serves as a liasion betweeen the Technology Department, Engineering and other internal departments, and outside contractors for projects.  Demonstrates leadership capacity and uses team effort throughout projects and problem-solving activities.  Arranges outside contractors to perform work at the facility. Promotes and works in a team-oriented environment.  Assures a safety first attitude that includes all safety work instructions and maintenance, good housekeeping of areas of where work is performed, and all maintenance areas.

QUALIFICATIONS

Three to 5 or more years work experience in a Project Engineering environment.  Familiar with Statisical Process Controls (SPC), proficient in word processing, MS Project and AutoCAD or similar drafting software.  A BS Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Process Engineering degree or similar Engineering degree is required.  A background with Process Design.  Skills in problem solving, project implementation and continuous improvement.  The ability to obtain, analyze and correlate statisical data. Experience writing detailed engineering investigative reports that shows results or process investigation, and provide recommendations for improvement.  Knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements. Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently with little to moderate supervision.
