Our Client is seeking an experienced Project Engineer in our Hood River, OR office.

The successful candidates most important qualifications include:

  • Five (5) years of Telecom Design experience required.
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Project Engineer for Fiber Optic design/Engineer/Construction
  • Professional Engineers License: P.E. for the State of Oregon welcomed or will help get certs
  • BSCE, BSME, or BSEE certifications preferred.
  • OSP, ISP fiber design experience is a must.
  • Familiarity in AutoCAD Civil 3D or Microstation/Geopak preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce construction plan sets independently.
  • Motivation to work in a dynamic environment with strict deadlines.

Requirements

  • Apply technical expertise to lead deliverables on conventional and unconventional projects.
  • Lead all aspects of various utility design and coordination of OSP, ISP, fiber design and other utility-based project assignments.
  • Coordinate utility design activities for regional footprint
  • Request design drawings from various utilities as required for use in project designs.
  • Research ongoing/future CIP projects for various cities/counties within project boundaries.
  • Prepare cost estimates.
  • Set up and maintain electronic files for project schedules, project tracker, permit tracker, and client exhibits.
  • Perform project route analysis, high level design, and quality control review of projects concerning preliminary engineering reports, layouts, schematics, plans and specifications, and cost estimations.
  • Coordinate field investigating requests.
  • Request permitting information and sign and seal design permits/drawings as required.
  • Lead and assist a team of CAD Technicians and GIS Technicians in research and project permits.
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of client standards, rules and requirements for planning, construction, and documentation.
  • Coordinate and work alongside construction vendors in build progress and deliverables.
  • Resolve problems identified in unapproved permits.
  • Submit, pick up, and obtain electronic signatures for drawings from the jurisdictional authority.
  • Work with minimal supervision and review design drawings, permit drawings, and GIS geodatabase deliverables (QA/QC).

Physical Requirements:

Sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time.

Mobility within the office including movement between floors and workstations.

Repeated motions (e.g., typing, reaching, bending, lifting, and carrying).

Environmental Factors:
Most work is performed in a professional office environment. Some trips to client offices and job sites for observations will be required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Someone with a strong background in OSP Management.
Be able to review design drawings, permit drawings, and GIS geodatabase deliverables.

Must be able to Lead all aspects of various utility design and coordination of OSP, ISP, fiber design, and other utility based project assignments.
Min of 3yrs experience as a PE for Fiber Optic design/engineer/construction
Min of 5yrs experience in telecom design
 

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
