Our client is world class marine terminal. We are looking for a Project Engineer to join their team. This person will closely with the team on various capital projects and day to day activities. He or she will supervise contractors and external stakeholders to allow access and permission, checking drawings and documents and providing oversight on all engineering activities.

We are looking for an engineer with a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience working in a heavy industrial setting. If this person has familiarity with bulk marine handling, conveyors, locomotives, railcars and material handling equipment, that would be a major asset.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Ensure smooth flow of communication between all representatives on site, including tradespeople, contractors and consultants
  • Develop long term project plans and descriptions
  • Assist the budgeting, scope of work, request for proposals and bids for all new projects
  • Coordinate with internal departments for each new project
  • Attend meetings with external stakeholders (including First Nations and port authorities)
  • Monitor project scope, scope and schedules
  • Conduct meetings to evaluate progress and address issues
  • Perform in house design/engineering work when needed
  • Supervise contractors and consultants
  • Ensure project documents and drawings are complete
  • Evaluate project performance
 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Engineering
  • P. Eng or the ability to register for this professional designation in BC
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience focused on consulting, field services or construction management
  • Experience working on heavy industrial sites
  • Familiarity with bulk marine handling, conveyors, locomotives, railcars and material handling equipment is a major asset

University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
