JOB DESCRIPTION

PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
Position responsibilities include but not limited to:
Overall project technical responsibility and coordination internally and with foreign sister companies
Lead and manage the mechanical engineering group. Participate in local management team meetings.
Coordinate work loading with project managers and stakeholders.
Manage the mechanical engineering group consisting of mechanical and project engineers as well as drafting contractors. The group is generally responsible for:
Mechanical design and functional description writing for material handling systems.
Process calculations and piping systems design for pneumatic, hydraulic, service/cooling water, and combustion/ combustion safety systems.
Performs design calculations and prepare equipment or material specifications
Structural, refractory, and machine design
Technical purchasing specification and requisition writing
Fabrication inspections
Attend customer technical meetings
Develop and maintain project work schedules
Project cold and hot commissioning field work
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

MUST HAVE INDUSTRIAL FURNACE EXPERIENCE

BS degree in Engineering (preferably mechanical).
PE certification a plus. 
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in design and project engineering.
Prior management experience desired.
Experience with industrial furnaces in the steel and aluminum industries preferred.
Experience with combustion, hydraulic, pneumatic, refractory, electronic systems, and mechanical design desired.
Experience designing with CAD software such as SolidWorks,AutoCAD, and database systems
Problem solving skills with the ability to become hands on involved when needed.
Familiarity with industrial construction sites and projects.
Strong communication, organizing, planning, management and inter-personal skills.
Willing and able to travel both domestically and internationally

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
