JOB DESCRIPTION

A rapidly growing distributor of industrial products, located about 15 miles west of Philadelphia, is looking for a IT Project Manager.  This is a new position within the PMO and the person applies systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine software or system functional specifications and requirements. This person may also do analysis to evaluate solutions. The Project Manager then recommends, plans, directs the design, documentation, analysis, creation, testing or modification of computer systems or related processes in conjunction with user or system design specifications and manages the implementation of same. The Project Manager assists with implementation as necessary and is accountable for sustaining consistent on-time and within budget upgrades and projects.


Responsibilities:

Manages multiple projects related to the operation of technologies across the company

Lead and participate in various projects, including performing business analyst type research on needs of the business. Obtain resources from other departments depending on specialties. Evaluate and make recommendations as appropriate.

Work close with the various system owners to ensure all technical aspects of any implementations and upgrades are completed adequately and on-time with minimal disruption.

Maintain coordination with training teams to ensure that Profit Center and National Support Center staff is trained on the use of any new system implemented

Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies

Performs other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience in operations in a wholesale distribution business is a plus.

Knowledge of business operations in Sales, Inventory Management, and Purchasing.

Experience with Excel, Access, and Outlook.

Able to drive constant improvement and get to the root cause or issues and make recommendations for improvement.

Project management experience and training skills

Above average ability to communicate using verbal and written format.

 

Education, Training, Experience:

Required

College degree or equivalent

5+ years’ experience in project management or systems implementation

Knowledge of systems implementation methodologies

Strong analytical skills

 

Preferred

Large scale consulting firm experience

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
