Our client is a leading BC based construction company specializing in custom steel buildings. They have a strong experience and very good track record of completing commercial and heavy industrial projects. They have a very solid and positive reputation in the industry for their reliability, excellence and quality of work and have the ability and determination to tackle the most complicated projects that a lot of companies refuse to do. These include projects that become iconic buildings. They are currently looking for a new Project Manager to support in the activities primarily executed from their head office in Surrey, BC. Candidates with 5+ years of project management experience, either in Canada or in other Countries, are welcome to apply. Previous experience in the construction industry is mandatory.


  • Involved in many aspects of the project balancing different aspects from finances, change orders, dealing with issues in different sites, deal with sub trades, schedules, planning
  • Anticipating and identifying risks and ensure operational impacts are minimized
  • Pre-planning for materials to be delivered to suit the erection schedule so that the erectors have all materials they require to perform the work. This can be accomplished by advisement to a designated person at the company’s office and arrangements for these materials will be made by that designated party
  • Discussions and meetings with various sub trades to plan the overall performance of the work
  • The PM might be required to do a few site visits, if required
  • Assist in schedule developments and any required time delays for work in the field.
  • Identify possible schedule risks, risk mitigation and improvement opportunities through analysis of the overall project schedule
  • Analyze erector's progress reports to ensure accuracy.
  • Perform critical path analysis to determine possible problem areas in regards to the project's schedule and resource overloads.
  • Evaluate field change orders or project deviations to assess schedule and scope impact
  • Able to effectively delegate while maintaining forward motion on key deliverables


  • General Contractor and multi-trade/discipline experience in ICI and heavy industrial. Ability to manager multiple projects. Experience in structural steel/pre-engineered construction an asset
  • Proven team player with the skills and ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent business and technical writing
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Proficient at reading drawings and schematics
