They design and manufacture new parts as well as remanufacture from the original OEMs (e.g. Volvo, Ford, GM, etc.). Over the years, the company has developed a strong warehouse distribution network in North America as well as increased their online direct sales.

They are currently in need of a Purchasing Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the purchasing activities while leading a well-established team of 4 individuals.

The ideal candidate is someone with previous management experience procuring cores in the automotive industry and with the ability to develop strategies as well as find new opportunities to purchase the best goods/services at the lowest costs.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Lead, coach, train the purchasing team and provide constructive feedback to improve processes and increase performances
  • Locate vendors, select equipment/supplies and negotiate contracts in order to provide the production team with the best materials at the lowest costs
  • Maintain records of goods ordered and received
  • Support the team with requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment
  • Evaluate market and delivery systems in order to assess present and future material availability
  • Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures
  • Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, selling, and distributing materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of purchasing/procurement experience and 2+ years in a supervisory capacity within the automotive industry (mandatory)
  • Business Diploma/Degree or related disciplines, or a combination of education + work experience
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated individual with excellent communications and organizational skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships, negotiate contracts and close deals with vendors
  • Problem-solving and time-management skills
  • Lead, coach, mentor the purchasing team
