The Quality Engineer is responsible for facilitating and supporting the creation of repeatable, reliable processes which lead to the reduction/removal of defects throughout the value stream 

• Promote the expectation that team members will consider the impact of their work/actions on others and make deliberate decisions to act in ways which prevent rework or constraints on the process. The Quality Engineer is a leader in this regard. 
• Facilitate creation of systems and processes which enhance the team’s ability to meet customer expectations (identification of standards, creating of buy/sell agreements, audit processes, etc.) 
• Provide leadership in Root Cause Analysis, Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Production Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Practical Problem Solving, etc. 
• Act as mediator when needed to clarify customer expectations or interpret standards 
• Prepare formal programs for dissemination to the team 
• Collaborate with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to prepare gauges and determine inspection frequencies 
• Work with operations and materials leadership to develop repeatable, reliable processes 
• Perform data entry, analysis and sharing/explanation of same 
• Design, review and interpret reports 
• Perform audits of new and existing processes 
• Document writing, control and management 
• Initiate non-conforming material documents for supplier quality issues 
• Assist in the execution of activities which promote continuous improvement and protect customers 
• Conduct training, information sharing and orientation sessions 
• Lead by example regarding safety and acting in the best interests of the team 
• Provide coverage for other technicians as needed 
• Act as the Quality Manager in their absence 
• Any other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager

• Able to: 
o Read and understand Engineering documents such as part prints, assembly drawings 
o Work overtime on short notice 
• Be willing to: 
o Learn and rotate within all quality areas 
o Improve self / area / company (including pursuing additional training, if needed) 
o Develop a working knowledge of company's systems (example: AS/400, Sparcon)
