SUMMARY: The Quality Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership and management of the company's Food Safety and Quality Program ensuring the safety and quality of products.
Lead and mentor 2 direct reports. DUTIES INCLUDE:
Development of plant level quality assurance standards, policies and procedures for product safety, quality and customer acceptance.
Oversight of the plant\'s overall Quality execution of standards, policies and procedures.
Develop quality-related strategic goals and integrate them into company and staff objectives.
Establish, supervise, and enforce safe workplace practices and applicable safety and health rules to maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
Monitor quality trends, confer with key customers to define quality issues, communicate issues to cross-functional management teams, and achieve alignment regarding resolution strategies.
Responsible for product release.
Liaison with third party toll manufacturing. Lead continuous improvement initiatives with regard to product quality and consistency, including shifting the focus of quality management to the production floor.
Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Food Science or related field.
7 plus years of experience in nutraceutical and/or food manufacturing, food science or a quality assurance environment.
5 plus years Management experience.
Knowledge of food safety, manufacturing processes, food regulation, sanitary design and quality management, including but not limited cGMP and GLP. Knowledge of regulatory environment including FDA, NSF and USP. Knowledge of GSFI schemes, including SQF, BRC, FSSC.
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
