Quantitative Model Risk

The QMRO is responsible for the validation management process of models and the Bank's development, deployment, and maintenance of quantitative models.


Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Aid as a contact to bank regulators and auditors on model risk management.
  2. Support the Model Risk Manager with backing on presentations and continuing communications with risk committees, auditors, and senior management of the bank concerning model risk and its likely effects on the risk profile of the bank.
  3. Support in developing, maintaining, and implementing the Bank's Model Risk Management Program.
  4. Assist in creating standards for managing areas of model risk including but not limited to the development and implementation, governance and certification, and model performance.
  5. Complete independent validations of numerous models in the inventory.
  6. Manage the resolution of validation conclusions with model owners and users, endorse management action plans, and track remediation advancement. Validation scope comprises assessment of model theoretical soundness, assessment of data and assumptions, testing model computational precision, and carrying out outcomes analysis.
  7. Monitor model performance intelligences on an on-going basis to safeguard models endure as valid.
  8. Consult with model users on the design of successful model operational controls.


Qualifications and RequiredSkills:

  1. Necessitates an advanced technical degree in finance, financial engineering, economics, mathematics, statistics, engineering, or related fields.).
  2. Demonstrated track record of robust technical model development, model management, or model oversight.
  3. Educated about model risk management and associated regulatory requirements.
  4. Robust project management capabilities.
  5. Three or more years of experience within the financial services industry.
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
