Role Summary/Purpose

The Regional VP Services will be responsible for RAIL Freight Service Operations within APAC region which include sub regions; Australia – New Zealand, Southeast Asia, China and India. This role will lead all business operational aspects including developing & executing service strategy, implement change to meet customer commitments and drive growth, create programs responsive to external and customer environment, and participate in cross-functional business initiatives such as integrated services strategies, talent reviews, productivity milestones, new product introductions, modernization programs and long term service agreements.

You can be based out of the following preferred office locations in the APAC region: 

Perth or Sydney Australia, Bangalore Karnataka India, Singapore

Essential Responsibilities

As the Regional Vice-President, you will be:

  • Responsible for the financial performance and overall growth of all parts, repair, and field service activities for the region
  • Establish and lead the freight services growth strategy for various accounts
  • Participate in identifying and promoting New Product Introduction (NPI) programs and Modernization programs to address market needs
  • Work closely with the commercial team to ensure appropriate sales coverage and opportunities to achieve the services orders plan
  • Responsible for the overall management duties for assigned Service Managers and Technical/Material team for assigned region or location
  • Lead and engage broad diverse global teams within assigned region in facilitating salary planning, performance appraisals, career coaching, and disciplinary action, as required
  • Develop the next level of Services leadership
  • Lead efforts to ensure Customer Service excellence and implement Operation Safety Policy instructions and conduct fieldwork in compliance with all applicable regulations and employee safety practices
  • Ensure operational excellence in the areas of integrity, controllership, and compliance
  • Leverage Productivity tools to drive Purchased Labor and Material, Variable Cost, and Base
  • Lead and report on short and long-term business planning (i.e. Operational Plans, Strategic plans, Budget plans, Regional reporting)
  • Work closely with Services leadership to investigate, analyze and resolve customer issues in a timely manner as it relates to locomotive fleet performance and all servicing aspects

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, science, engineering, technology or related discipline (and/or High-school diploma and 15+ years related experience)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in leadership roles including building and leading complex and large professional teams
  • Minimum of 10+ years’ of relevant management experience leading diverse business functions including Services Operations, Sales/Commercial, Quality

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Eligibility to work out of an office located in Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, China and India.
  • Must be willing and available to travel 50%+ of the time
  • Proficient in English
  • Available to work outside of normal business hours due to time zones

Desired Characteristics

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration (MBA)
  • Prior experience in field services including working with all aspects related to customer and contract management preferred
  • Strong business acumen and commercial savvy
  • Six Sigma training or equivalent Quality training
  • Strong customer service mindset
  • Prior P&L, Field Services or Contractual Services experience
  • Prior Contract negotiations experience
  • Prior P&L Leadership experience with significant scope and scale
  • Services and/or Rail Transportation market and industry experience
  • Ability to interface and influence all levels of the customers organization
  • Ability to relocate internationally for future promotional opportunities

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
