The Reliability Engineer provides day-to-day technical and engineering support to the maintenance and operating areas. The primary role is to identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations. These responsibilities include safety and environmental issues, equipment reliability and run time, equipment improvements, process/equipment troubleshooting, training, and new asset development support.


Provide day-to-day reliability engineering services in support of plant equipment breakdowns, diagnosing failure modes and prescribing repair procedures.
Utilize root cause analysis including formal failure incident investigations and documentation when appropriate.
Provide support to ensure compliance with the Mechanical Integrity Program, Tank Inspection Program and other safety, health, environmental, and quality requirements.
Provide ongoing support and continuous improvement to the maintenance management system database by entering/updating equipment data and by developing/entering/updating preventive maintenance procedures for plant equipment.
Utilize RCM (reliability centered maintenance) methodology for plant equipment and process; such as Asset Maintenance Strategy, Unplanned Downtime Tracking, etc.  
Provide ongoing support and technical leadership for the Predictive Maintenance program; including and future enhancements to the vibrations analysis, infrared thermography and lubrication management efforts.
]Provide maintenance project management leadership including development of maintenance related cost improvement efforts; also provide maintenance technical support on plant capital projects.
Provide technical support for shop repair of major plant equipment and field inspection of new equipment fabrication.
Manage maintenance resources or contractors during outages or project implementation.
Provide technical support to maintenance planning and scheduling functions.
Continuously improve standard operating procedures (SOP’s) for maintenance, including procedures for equipment documentation.






B.S. Engineering or related discipline, B.S.M.E. preferred 
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in Maintenance and Reliability Best Practices in a manufacturing environment
Strong engineering, analytical and problem-solving skills, including RCA/RCFA
Proficient with the RCM methodology, RCA/RCFA, FMEA, MRO, preventive maintenance, corrective actions, predictive technologies, and mechanical integrity.
Effective communication and leadership skills, working as a team player and mentor
Background in Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), SAP preferred
Experience in problem analysis and rotating equipment troubleshooting, preferred
Experience in vibration analysis, lubrication and thermography preferred
Experience with Lean tools and leading cost improvement activities 
Minimal travel required
