SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

Tampa, FL (Relocation Provided)

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the planning and administration of projects according to contract requirements, technical specifications, and industry best practices as well as providing guidance and support to the other members of the Project and Engineering teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support to the other members of the Project and Engineering teams.
  • Direct the execution of each project from initiation to closing.
  • Manage the work of the project work groups: engineering; procurement; construction; commissioning; suppliers; consultants; and contractors.  
  • Manage the project scope of work and changes.   
  • Plan and manage the project schedule.  Provide regular updates to stakeholders and apply means of recovery where required.  
  • Working with the stakeholders, identify, report, and develop plans to exploit or mitigate project risks. 
  • Manage the project budget and monitor cash flow.
  • Define and manage the quality requirements of the project.
  • Oversee the execution of contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Direct and maintain effective communication with and between all project stakeholders.
  • Keep project sponsors informed regarding status of various contracts and protect company interest by verifying that contractual activities and records are in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Negotiate the terms of subcontracts, purchase agreements, and scope changes.

Qualifications:

  • Ten or more years of relevant experience in project management and engineering. 
  • Registration as Professional Engineer (PE) in Florida or eligible for registration.
  • Strong management skills with ability to direct, manage and/or support project and engineering personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage scope, budget, and schedules effectively.
  • Must have excellent analytical skills, effective written and oral communications skills, successful negotiation skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • Must understand the broader impact of proposed or awarded work and contract terms on the company and be able to identify and resolve complex contract issues and obligations.
  • Experience identifying and mitigating risks in complex design/build projects.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels, within and outside the company.
  • Experience in managing design, procurement, and construction of industrial projects involving chemical processes. 
  • Experience in plant design and construction would be a valuable asset.
  • Experience in tank fabrication and specifications would be a valuable asset.
  • Working knowledge of quality management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, MS Projects)
  • Post-secondary degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent. 
  • Strong project management and planning skills, ability to set priorities, track and meet deadlines, and adapt to meet rapidly changing priorities.
  • Desire and ability to work in a fun, dynamic growth environment, taking on new tasks as they occur.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with customers, employees, and able to work independently and in a team environment.
