Safety Manager

REQUIRES:

3+ years overseeing safety programs for a plastics manufacturing

State and Federal OSHA regulation knowledge

Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational, Health and Safety or related field

 

We are searching for a Safety Manager to proactively manage and oversee a plastic manufacturing facility, working towards a world class safety program.  The incumbent will promote safe work practices and influence a proactive safety culture.

 

We want someone with a high energy work ethic with the ability to work independently while maintaining strong internal and external professional relationships.  You must have the ability to work collaboratively with others.

 

DUTIES:

  • Inspect and evaluated workplace environment, equipment, and practices for compliance with government health safety standards and regulations
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root cause and determine how to prevent in the future
  • Maintain and update as needed written programs such as confined space entry, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, and lockout/tagout
  • Perform assessments that include ergonomics, confined space, and machine guarding
  • Conduct job safety analyses, set goals for improvements, and make recommendations on injury prevention
  • Present safety training on various topics, including but not limited to the following: personal protective equipment, welding and cutting, fall protection, lockout/tagout, hand/power tools, confined space entry, hearing conservation, and respiratory protection
  • Lead monthly safety committee meetings while effectively walking the team through open-action items to find and implement solutions
  • Manages Workers Compensation process. Investigates and arranges for care of workplace injuries. Submits claims to workers compensation carrier and updates OSHA log as necessary
  • Document and maintain MSDSs

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRES:

3+ years overseeing safety programs for a plastics manufacturing

State and Federal OSHA regulation knowledge

Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational, Health and Safety or related field

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
