Great opportunity to live in the beautiful coastal area of South Carolina, while joining a global chemical leader as Safety Specialist, supporting multiple specialty chemical operations.  Requires solid technical expertise in PSM, ISO, and OSHA programs.


--- Perform safety advisory and risk prevention for chemical plant site in accordance with OSHA, PSM, EPA, and DOT regulations / compliance
--- Update and maintain safety policies, procedures, and standards
--- Conduct routine inspections/audits of the facility for safety compliance
--- Assist with Safety training of employees and contractors
--- Assist Safety Manager with PSM Program and facility compliance
--- Conduct safety incident investigations and make recommendations for policy changes
--- Assist Safety Manager in the Risk Management Program and facility compliance
--- Assist in the management of plant MSDS/SDS inventory
--- Prepare site for annual audits and reporting for meeting local, state, and national compliance and regulations.
--- Assist in updating emergency response plans and training for the onsite emergency response personnel to include Fire Brigade, Hazmat, Confined Rescue, and Medical Response Teams
--- Administer the use of Personal Protective Equipment
--- Participate in weekly safety meetings


--- BS in Occupational Health and Safety with 5+ years specializing in Safety/ Environmental/ Health programs in Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Petrochemical or Refinery plants
--- Knowledge of principles/practices used in chemical manufacturing plants; i.e. OSHA, ISO, PSM, HAZOP, PHA, EPA, DOT
--- OSHA and CPR First Aid Training required
--- CSP Certification desired
--- Must be able to work both now and in future without sponsorship

University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
