We are looking to appoint a professional solutions based Sales Engineer to sell a range of Mecatronic Equipment and Software Solutions into industrial manufacturing plants in Sydney and Country New South Wales.

Your client base will encompass both blue chip companies and developing enterprises including food, beverage and pharmaceutical producers, as well as the building products, pipe and timber industries etc.  Your product offerings will cross a number of technologies and applications as diverse as the day is long, so your sales opportunities will never be mundane or boring.

On a daily basis you will be charged with managing a loyal client base, assessing new sales opportunities, conducting on-site trials and demonstrations and selling in new tenders. The position will be supported by a strong mentor who is well known in the industry and can assist you on all aspects of the job, be it sales or technical issues. 

Ideally the person we are seeking will be a tertiary qualified in a Mechatronics, Engineering or similar discipline and be able to evidence experience selling technical solutions involving both capital equipment and software components.

Success in this role will be ensured by your ability to manage longer term sales cycles that involve establishing the clients needs, assessing the scope of works and presenting a qualified solution. However it will be your sound knowledge of the capital sales process along with your ability to build strong and credible client relationships and a determination to "close the sale" that will be most highly regarded. Ideally you will be able to demonstrate all or most of the following selection criteria:

  • Be technically savvy and comfortable selling both capital equipment and software solutions.
  • Tertiary or trade qualifications in and engineering, mechatronics or electrical discipline are manditory.
  • A background in industrial IT solutions would advantageous but not essential.
  • You are motivated by success and enjoy working with technical solutions.
  • You can interact with operators and manufacturing staff one minute and making a formal board room presentation the next.
  • You have a keen eye for an opportunity and not shy in raising the subject with a potential client.

A very competitive remuneration package including base salary, commissions, bonuses, car allowance, phone, laptop etc will be negotiated depending on qualifications and experience.
