Our client is a well-established, private company that supplies equipment to the construction industry in British Columbia. They are very well-known for their outstanding customer service and quality of products and offer a wide variety of solutions for both residential and commercial projects.

They are currently adding a new Sales Representative to their team, in order to support the owners of the company to increase revenue, manage the existing accounts and pursue new business opportunities. This individual will generate/follow up on leads until the deal is finalized, call on general contractors, architects, designers, builders in order to build long-lasting relationships, and will also managed part of the existing accounts, mostly in Vancouver and Lower Mainland.

They are looking for a self-motivated individual with a consultative approach and strong communications skills. Someone who is determined to build a rich client portfolio and grow both financially and career-wise. This role will gradually take over part of the accounts that the two owners are currently managing, which means a high volume of business opportunities that will lead to high commission/upside. JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Identify new customers through cold calling, prospecting, emailing, etc
  • Look after existing clients and provide them with technical support
  • Maintain records of projects to properly manage the job sites. Generate reports if needed
  • Prepare quotes and presentations for lunch & learns
  • Provide excellent customer service and solve issues that may arise
  • Communicate with all the company departments involved in the sales, installation and service processes
  • Attend tradeshows and corporate events, if required

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • 3+ years of previous outside sales experience, ideally in the construction/building materials industry
  • Diploma or Degree with focus on business, sales/marketing, mathematics, engineering or related subjects
  • Driven, adaptable and hard-working individual with the ability to manage rejections
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Excellent communications and organizational skills
  • Attention to details and ability to solve problems
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Strong computer skills, particularly Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license
