Our client is an historic European manufacturer of high-end bottles used primarily in the alcoholic beverages industry, but also in others such as perfumes, cosmetics etc. Their manufacturing plants are located in France, in the Middle East, and in Mexico and they employ over 2,800 people around the world.
In the USA the company, which imports production from their factories, currently bills around $80 Million/year, and has been growing at a rate of 30 to 40% annually. They are well established in the West with offices and warehouses in California and Washington, and more recently in the East with a branch in New Jersey, and Central US with a branch in Louisville Kentucky.
The position responsible for the Napa-Sonoma-Central territory is in replacement of a person who left the company. They believe there is the potential for an increase of at least $2 to 3.5 million additional business per year in this territory only.
The exact title of the position is not yet stabilized, but the role is one primarily of business development, which includes both direct and indirect sales depending on customer size and potential. The technical aspect of the products and their high-end positioning requires sophisticated customer service. Product development and manufacturing crews being located overseas, ability to interface effectively with them is mandatory (intercultural sensitivity).
