SENIOR Accountant – Miami, FL

Highly visible opportunity for a Senior Accountant, with 2-3 years of Big 4 experience, to join the Real Estate Investment division of a marquee organization. This person will work on a team that deals directly with Property Management Companies and Asset Managers to collect and record the financial results of properties owned by the Company.

This is an entry point to the organization and2-4 years of current/recent Public Accounting experience is essential.



•Perform preliminary and detailed review of monthly financial packages (including general ledger and bank account reconciliations) prepared by the Property Management Companies 
•Perform preliminary review of expenditures capitalized by the Property Management team and input approved entries into the PeopleSoft Asset Management module
•Perform preliminary review of new and amended leases for proper accounting in accordance with U.S. GAAP
•Communicate directly with Property Management team with regards to follow-up questions and deliverables
•Prepare all accounting entries related to assigned areas and ensure the accuracy of accounts and balances
•Prepare reconciliations for internally managed accounts in a format that allows supervisor to understand in review process
•Prepare monthly variance explanations for significant fluctuations of Actual to Plan and Prior Period, as used in our Flash meetings
•Prepare quarterly and year-end financial schedules and related footnotes with strict adherence to departmental deadlines
•Assist with the annual budgeting process (if needed)
•Make recommendations to improve existing processes 
•Assist with special projects/requests as necessary



•A Bachelors degree, with a CPA designation mandatory.
•2-4 years Public accounting experience (Big 4 strongly preferred).

•Strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills
•Positive problem-solving mentality that seeks solutions and improvements
•Detail-oriented with good communication and interpersonal abilities
•Skilled in the analysis and explanation of variances and the ability to dig in to the details to understand financial transactions
•Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and PeopleSoft 

University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
