JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting information in conformance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in the U.S. and working with the accounting team to provide management with information to be used for decision making and measuring results.

  1. Responsible for timely completion of day to day accounting processes as assigned. 
  2. Ensure assigned general ledger account balances are correct, perform variance analysis, prepare account reconciliations and post general ledger entries.  
  3. Prepare assigned reports including monthly, quarterly and annual management reports as well as ad hoc reports.
  4. Assist with the annual financial statement audit including the preparation of schedules to be provided to the auditors and schedules to support notes to the financial statements.
  5. Prepare assigned Department of Commerce reports.
  6. Research and analyze accounting issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in Accounting or Finance is required.  CPA or CMA certification or working toward is a plus. 

EXPERIENCE: 

  • A minimum of 3 years general accounting experience with sufficient knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and the ability to identify and correct sub-optimal business processes.  The ability to quickly analyze data and situations including trends and outliers and to identity unexpected balances in various asset or liability accounts.  Reconcile account balances, distinguish transaction classes and data source systems in the process, and summarize the key points to others. 
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system experience is required and SAP experience is highly desired.
  • General accounting experience within a manufacturing environment is strongly desired and the ability to deal with ambiguous or unstructured problems.

OTHER SKILLS:  Advanced MS Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, lookups, analytics, etc.) and a minimum intermediate skills in MS PowerPoint and MS Word.
