PRIMARY DUTIES

 

Core Technology Responsibilities:

 

  • Cisco Networking solutions and related concepts
  • Routing, Switching, Wireless and Voice technologies
  • Network Security
  • Networking Architecture and concepts
  • Project Management

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Leads and is responsible for the implementation, maintenance and support of one or more technical areas. Responsibilities include implementation, administration and support of FTI’s global network, wireless and voice services.

 

  • Supports one or more technical leads in the assessment of current services and the development of the health and maintenance program.

 

  • Provides deep service and product specific knowledge in their assigned service areas for project delivery, problem management and issue resolution.

 

  • Acts as an infrastructure lead on assigned projects, providing subject matter expertise

 

  • Oversees the implementation and management of enterprise-wide IT systems.

 

  • Deploys, configures, and maintains the health of various FTI infrastructure systems.

 

  • Responsible for the day to day sustaining activities for the FTI global enterprise.

 

  • Develops, maintains, and executes documentation, policies, and procedures.

 

  • Provides project management on assigned projects.

 

  • Provides Tier 3 (highest level) escalation support for network systems and platforms

 

  • Analyzes and maintains periodic service performance data to ensure optimal usage of the resources available.

 

  • Leads and is responsible for the completion of tasks, change controls, and responses to escalations and alerts for other engineers.

 

  • Responsible for the execution and maintenance of:
    • Incident resolution
    • Problem Reporting and Tracking
    • Management of global service providers
    • Capacity management
    • Recurring tasks (daily, weekly, monthly etc.)
    • Use and compliance with FTI’s Change Management Control Process
    • Use and compliance with the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards when developing solutions
    • Adherence to published Project Management Policies & Procedures

 

  • Provides leadership to ensure that system security issues are addressed effectively within the FTI enterprise environment.

 

  • Prepares long and short-term plans for systems maintenance, production activities, and upgrades as necessary for system health.

 

  • Defines processes and procedures to assist in disaster recovery.

 

  • Analyzes and maintains performance data to monitor usage and optimization of the architecture.

 

  • Responsible for providing high quality project management services on all assignments with little to no involvement from management.

 

  • Provides input to and manages all budgetary expenses as it relates to assigned projects.

 

  • Proactively engages management as necessary to resolve issues and ensure awareness of potential dangers to the environment.

 

 

CRITICAL COMPETENCIES

 

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of routing protocols such as BGP in a multi-home ISP environment, OSPF, and EIGRP.

     

  • Thorough understanding of DNS.

 

  • Experience with Cisco VOIP Solutions (CUCM, CUCME, UNITY, H323, SIP, MGCP)

 

  • Experience and understanding of QOS and VOIP solutions throughout an enterprise environment.

     

  • Experience and understanding of Solarwinds Orion and other monitoring tools

 

  • Prior experience of Service Now

 

  • Understands and applied policies and procedures.

 

  • Understands and applies ITILv3 policies and procedures.

     

  • Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with senior business management and peers.

 

  • Strong business and technical process design and documentation skills.

     

  • Possesses a high level of technical/functional expertise and knowledge.

     

  • Industry expertise of best practices, standards, and technology.

     

  • Understands and applies policies and procedures.

     

  • Project Management Experience

     

 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

 

  • University Degree or equivalent job experience

     

  • 5+ Years’ experience in the administration and operation of Cisco routers, switches and firewalls

     

  • Minimum of CCNP (in either router & switching, collaboration or security) or CCIE certification
