Project Engineer required to safely and cost-effectively deliver ~$2M p.a. of CAPEX projects related to operational, environmental and safety performance improvement. Work closely with Operations and Technical to identify future opportunities for improvement, developing future CAPEX budget.

This global chemical manufacturer produces specialty chemicals that are precursors for paints and coatings for aeroplanes, smartphones, cars, construction chemicals and printing inks. They have plants in Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe and North America.

The Brisbane Site requires an ambitious Engineer who can successfully be hands-on, driving small to medium capital projects from inception to completion, and potentially as part of a Project Team for larger capital projects on sites in Australia and Asia. The role is instrumental in their drive to grow in Asia and continuously improve their competitive position.

You will report to the Engineering Manager and be hands-on in facets of these projects including;

  • Develop Project Scope and Budget - Confirm technical/process requirements
  • Supervise mechanical and structural design
  • Develop estimates, specifications and purchase equipment
  • Prepare installation scope of work, bid and award contracts
  • Supervise installation - manage and drive safety performance
  • Supervise mechanical equipment commissioning and handover to Operations.

You are a degree qualified Engineer (ideally Mechanical) RPEQ who displays a robust character, well-developed communication, leadership and team skills. Additionally, you have:

  • Experience as a Project Engineer in petrochemical manufacturing or Oil and Gas production
  • Proven ability to manage small to medium-sized projects.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to plan and set priorities
  • Passion, dedication and capability of working in an innovative and creative way.
  • An ability to deliver multiple outcomes under pressure

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
