JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our team of highly motivated and hungry for challenge accounting professionals.  Under the direction of the Controller, the position will contribute in the following ways:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage month end close process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of results.
  • Manage completion of balance sheet and cash account reconciliations monthly.
  • Monitor and ensure timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting guidance.
  • Manage and supervise accounts payable / accounting staff.
  • Manage and deliver requests from external auditors.
  • Support purchase accounting and other M&A activities, as necessary.
  • Responsible for managing all state and local compliance with sales and use tax as well as any other audit requirements.
  • Create and implement accounting policy documents to improve clarity and consistency.
  • Perform continuous assessment of the month-end and year-end closing process to improve accuracy and reduce the time to close.
  • Participate in other projects as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education, Experience and Attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required. Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial reporting
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP experience a plus
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to identify and clearly communicate key issues
  • Excellent computer software skills, including Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions supported by relevant data and information
  • Ability to work effectively and collaborate at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, changing environment while maintaining a positive, “can do” attitude
  • Preference for candidates who have public accounting experience with a national CPA firm.
  • Preference for candidates who hold an active CPA license from some state

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
