JOB DESCRIPTION

Senior Systems Administrator.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Engage and lead local IT team resources and business personnel to plan, implement, and support local as well as enterprise IT, laboratory, and business systems.
  • Be an integral member of multiple global IT and system teams, planning and implementing a global IT vision and infrastructure.
  • Exercise project management of local IT projects, including schedules, updates, meetings, documentation, resources, and completion milestones.
  • Proactively administer, monitor, troubleshoot, and repair servers, workstations, and network devices in a local LAN comprising 100+ users and 150+ workstations and servers and participating in global teams supporting a global WAN, 2000+ users, and thousands of systems.
  • Participate as a team member in 24/7/365 monitoring, support efforts, informal and formal on-call responsibilities, and occasional after-hours implementations, projects, and support.
  • Plan, lead, author, and execute computer system validation and qualification efforts for key IT and laboratory technical systems to be compliant with regulatory requirements including cGMP, SoX, and others.
  • Monitor, report, and take appropriate action on server processes, databases, and business systems to ensure minimal downtime and meet service levels, business requirements, and security requirements.
  • Generate and present clear and relatable metrics, reports, information, and communications to company personnel on department status, issues, plans, remediations, and the like.
  • Work closely with all business departments and personnel to ensure that technological services and support are integral to the operation of the business and these aspects are key team members in the successful operation of Cambrex and its business goals.

Requirements:

  • Minimum BS/BA in computer technology field or related equivalent experience.
  • Seven or more years of experience in Windows system administration in multiple environments, including workstation and server administration, installation, configuration, and maintenance skills.
  • Extensive Active Directory configuration, management, and maintenance skills, including group policy.
  • Modern VMware administration and maintenance experience required. vSAN a plus.
  • Notable experience implementing and maintaining systems in a controlled, heavily-regulated environment, validating and qualifying systems, executing change controls, documenting modifications, and maintaining data integrity.
  • Network device and topology management, configuration, and maintenance skills.
  • Maintenance and administration of enterprise information data systems, including databases, important.
  • Must have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, the ability to clearly communicate and relate to non-IT business leaders and members, and be able to work both independently as well as part of multiple teams.

Preferred/Beneficial:

  • Pharmaceutical laboratory and manufacturing environment experience
  • Experience with laboratory data acquisition and processing systems
  • Experience administering and maintaining the following systems a plus: Siemens and other brand plant control systems, Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop, NetApp, PaloAlto firewalls, HP switches, Cisco Meraki and Nexus, Waters Empower & NuGenesis, Kantech, and Veritas NetBa
