** continental night shift (7:30pm to 7:30am) - night shift version only, not a rotation


* Responsible to provide leadership and coordination of all shop floor functions and activities for their shift to meet safety, quality, delivery and cost targets

* Foster a working environment that is fair, equitable and driven to continuously improve

* Monitor and Ensure Health & Safety, SQF, 5S Compliance

* Ensure all team members are trained and performing in a safe and efficient manner using appropriate PPE and provide training where applicable

* Lead Accident/Incident Investigations and submit reports in a timely manner

* Proactively identify and suggest ways to eliminate hazards

* Correct unsafe acts or conditions, ensuring health & safety policies are followed

* Regularly audit shop floor to ensure compliance with policies and procedures and ensure inspections are appropriately documented

* Respond to Customer concerns using an RCA methodology and the appropriate documentation that will allow a response in the allotted time frame

* Ensure that each shift is adequately staffed to meet the production requirements

* Identify vacancies and work with Molding Manager to use temporary labour or recruit new hires as required

* Identify training opportunities (GMPs, SQF, QA procedures, etc.); manage the training plan and keep the Training Matrix up to date

* Ensure adherence to standard work and provide timely feedback to team members

* Ensure cross-training and back-up support is adequate

* Manage the vacation schedule for all direct and indirect employees

* Manage and report absences, overtime, personnel moves and other exceptions

* Manage the Performance Improvement program (deal with issues, provide feedback , maintain documentation, etc.)

* Manage activities of Modified Duties personnel on shift

* Monitor shift performance to ensure targets are being met


* Post secondary education an asset

* 5 years+ of experience in manufacturing production control experience in a fast paced, high volume environment

* Proven ability to deliver performance results based on company KPIs

* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and applications

* Ability to effectively coach, manage, and support Team Members

* Knowledge of plastic injection molding processes an asset

* Knowledge of packaging operations

* Strong interpersonal and people management skills

* Effective planning and organizational skills

* Project management skills

* Good PC skills (MS Office)
