Our client is a successful and well-established mechanical contractor based in the Vancouver metropolitan area. The company offers a wide range of HVAC and engineering solutions to the building industry, for both commercial and industrial projects, from design to installation.

Due to the promotion of a member of the engineering team, they are currently looking for an additional Senior Design Engineer who will be responsible for designing mechanical systems for commercial and industrial facilities while overseeing a team of two mechanical designers/drafters.

The company innovative approach to the traditional mechanical design as well as their ability to combine engineering and construction services made them the number one mechanical contractor in British Columbia.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in HVAC systems design and a Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng.) or eligibility for licensing with EGBC.


  • Prepare load calculations, schematics, equipment selection and system concept report.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external consultants and architects.
  • Prepare all the contract documents, including specifications.
  • Visit job sites during the construction phase.
  • Provide the project manager with reports indicating the status of the project.


  • Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or other similar disciplines such as Building Systems.
  • Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng.) or eligibility for licensing with EGBC.
  • 5+ years of engineering and/or design coordination experience in the consulting industry.
  • Knowledge of AUTOCAD and REVIT is an asset.
  • Knowledge of North American engineering standards including ASHRAE, BCBC, VBBL, and NFPA.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
